My problem is my Motherboard or memory?
My Motherboard support up to 8GB of memory. I've tried to swap the memory around to see if one of them weren't working, but in the end I got the same results, no matter what I did it was 2x1GB=1.95GB(correct), 3x1GB=2.75GB(correct I guess) and 4x1GB=2.75GB(totally wrong).
My MB is MSI K9N SLI Platinum (MS-7250) Series
My memory is Corsair, model XMS2-6400 1024MB 800MHz DDR2 (4 of these)
Please help, what can I do to my motherboard recognize 4GB of ram?
Depending on the hardware you'll get around 3GB total, no matter how much more than 3GB you put in there. You need a 64bit OS for that. It's like trying to pour 4 gallons of water into a 3 gallon tank. (Technically it's like pouring 4 gallons of water into a 4 gallon tank that already has 1 gallon in it...but you get the idea)
